3 Lessons I’ve Learnt From Doing 100 Episodes Of Leading From The Forest Podcast.

Wahwoooo I’ve made it! Blog 100. Oh my. 100 episodes and blogs ago I set out to find my voice, decode Forest School for parents and go even deeper into the thing I’ve been called to do.
Now we’re here after a few bumps, scrapes, and embarrassing re listens but…. it’s been electric and I can’t wait to do more.
If you’ve listened in or read the blog before you’ll know I love geeking out on certain stuff. Like all of us I reflect on mostly everything that I do, especially that what I put out into the public sphere. This has led me to reflect on what I’ve learnt from doing 100 episodes of the podcast.
I did something similar at episode 50 and intend to do it at 150, 200, 250, 300 and then probably in the last episode of this season episode 365. So lets get into it.
Here are three new lessons I’ve learnt from doing 100 episodes
People love a good theory.
The most listened to episodes of this podcast are the episodes of child development theory. I suppose it’s no surprise as it explains things your children do, which is highly fascinating to parents.
It shows me our listener base are as much geek as me when it comes to child development theory and going deep into the why. Maybe you’d like to join my tribe?
Podcast episodes form great foundations for writing books.
If you hadn’t heard or this is your first episode or blog post. I’m writing a book! A real life page turner. It is unsurprisingly all about Forest School but it looks to finally bring together a simple explanation of what it’s all about in a way parents can understand and begin to truly appreciate what Forest School can do for their child.
Where did Iget all the content to write this book you may ask? Well the podcast of course. All the things I have spoken about has been transcribed into a blog and so this formed the basis of the book.
Obviously I needed someone to string all my endeavours together into one cohesive literary piece but it, my friends, is very close to being released. It’s looking likely that it’ll be out for Christmas.
Inspiration comes from everywhere.
When I first set out on this podcast/blog journey I was stumped at how I was going to fill 365 days or 365 episodes of content. But do you know what it’s proving easier than I ever imagined.
The reason being is by breaking a concept down into small chunks lots of little chunks forms and from them other chunks that all form a persons understanding of the movement and help to realise what it’s all about.
My tribe too also inspires ideas for content with their thoughts and questions which makes it super meaningful. If that wasn’t enough I’ve also found after doing 100 episodes people are so grateful to help me out and come onto the show, that I have become more and more ballsy and have began to invite people who make me literally star struck.
I’m not going to name drop but you may know who we’ve had on and the people we have to come, well. Let’s just say I hope I don’t fumble my words as per. To be given the chance to interview these individuals is a privilege, an honour and something I jump around my house about knowing I get a once in a lifetime opportunity.
From these people I’m able to learn so much and that impacts on me and my practice in the right kind of way. Plus their kindness knows know bounds as I begin to form working relationships with many of the guests. Incredible right!
Here’s to the next 50 episodes before I reflect some more.
So there’s three things I’ve learnt from doing 100 episodes. Here’s to 265 more until I complete the season.
Let’s get it done together. You’re Just One Session Away.
